Answers to what people ask most. Ricordo also has a guide built in: tap the question mark on any page.
How does Ricordo know where my photos were taken?
From the location your camera saved in each photo. iPhone saves it when the Camera may use your location (Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Camera). Photos without one, like many saved from chats, can be placed by hand: Ricordo groups them into moments under Where were you? in Settings.
Does Ricordo upload my photos?
No. Ricordo reads your library where it is, on your iPhone or iPad. A photo leaves your device only when you send it as a postcard or share a trip as a link yourself.
A trip is missing, or two trips should be one.
Trips are days with photos more than 50 km from home (you can change the distance and your home in Settings). Open a trip to rename it, move its dates, split it or join it with the next one. A short outing counts as a day trip; you can count it as a trip.
How do I add the widgets?
Home Screen: touch and hold an empty spot, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and pick Ricordo. Lock Screen: touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then the widget area, and pick Ricordo.
How do postcards work?
Sign in with Apple under Postcards, then send your invite link to your partner, or make a group for the family. A photo you send lands on the Postcards widget on their Home Screen, with where you are and the time there. Only the people you pair with see it, and postcards are deleted from our server after 30 days.
I have a new iPhone or an iPad. Do I lose my changes?
No. Ricordo builds your atlas again from your photos on each device, and your renamed trips, fixed places and favourites follow through your iCloud.
How do I change Ricordo’s language?
Ricordo follows your device’s language: English, Italian, Dutch, French, German or Spanish. To choose one for Ricordo alone, go to Settings → Apps → Ricordo → Language.
How do I delete my account?
In Ricordo, go to Settings → Sharing → Delete account and all links. That removes your profile, every shared link, every postcard you sent and every photo we stored. Your library on your device isn’t touched.
